TNT has ordered a fourth season of drama Rizzoli & Isles and a second season of recent arrival Dallas, with 15 new episodes of each for 2013. Season to-date, the Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander crime solver is averaging 7.1 million viewers in the Tuesday 9 p.m. hour, according to Nielsen, and it ranks as the top-rated returning scripted series on basic cable this summer to-date.

Dallas, meanwhile, rose to 7.8 million viewers for its two-episode debut, (with DVR usage factored in), and it ranks as basic cable’s top new series this year to-date. TNT is now home to the No. 1 show for the third consecutive summer following Falling Skies in 2011 and Rizzoli & Isles in 2010.

Sure, soaps are dead, mhmmmmm-Hey, TNT, AMC/OLTL are out there to be revived, are you game…

Thank you Marc, this is great news! Dallas is just as good as it was before. Another must see TV for me. With TNT’s interest and success in scripted dramas, maybe it can be the new home for One Life To Live and All My Children.

Good news. I have started to watch Rizzoli and Isles this season. Love Angie Harmon. Since ABC has cancelled my all time favorite soap OLTL, and gone to reality based shows, I have started to watch TNT more and more. It has some great shows!
