NFL Wild Card Game: Detroit at New Orleans (NBC)

-Ratings Breakdown:
Dominant NBC slammed the competition, of course, care of Detroit at New Orleans on The NFL Playoff Wild Card Game at a mammoth (and estimated) 27.88 million viewers and a 10.0 rating/28 share among adults 18-49 for the primetime portion.   Comparably, that more than doubled the competition combined in total viewers with four times the demo rating combined.  While not every Saturday can include a football game of this magnitude, it does prove that viewers will watch network television on this evening if there is something worth seeing.

As a reminder, results for any live sporting event are always estimated.


Elsewhere, and it was not much, ABC filled the evening with a repeat of Wipeout (Viewers: #2, 3.56 million; A18-49: #3, 0.8/ 2 at 8 p.m.) and ABC News: Your Voice, Your Vote: Republican Presidential Candidate Debate in New Hampshire (Viewers: #2, 5.41 million; A18-49: #2, 1.1/ 3 from 9-11 p.m.).  CBS aired back-to-back repeats of sitcoms Rules of Engagement from 8-9 p.m. (Viewers: #4, avg. 1.98 million; A18-49: #4, avg. 0.5/ 1), followed by an encore telecast of The Mentalist (Viewers: #3, 3.66 million; A18-49: #4, 0.7/ 3) and 48 Hours Mystery (Viewers: #3, 4.83 million; A18-49: #3, 1.0/ 3) from 9-11 p.m.  And Fox closed the night with Cops (original and repeat – Viewers: #3, avg. 3.15 million; A18-49: #2, avg. 1.0/ 3 from 8-9 p.m.) and a repeat of Terra Nova (Viewers: #4, 1.36 million; A18-49: #4, 0.4/ 1 at 9 p.m.) from 8-10 p.m.
