Upcoming NBC midseason sitcom “The Family Guide,” which is in conversations with Jenna Elfman to replace departed Parker Posey has a new name: “Growing Up Fisher.” Single camera “Growing Up Fisher” tells the tale of a son (Eli Baker) who idolizes his blind father (J.K. Simmons) and is amused by this mother’s newfound adolescence is post-divorce. Posey dropped out of the project shortly after it was ordered to series.

“Growing Up Fisher” is one of six new sitcoms to populate NBC’s 2013-14 line-up. The three fall entries, which are scheduled in the 8:30-10 p.m. block on Thursday, are “Welcome to the Family,” “Sean Saves the World” and “The Michael J. Fox Show.” And the other new midseason comedy is “About a Boy,” the tale of the relationship between a bachelor man-child (David Walton) and the young boy who moves in next door. “About a Boy” and “Growing Up Fisher” will air in the Tuesday 9 p.m. hour (out of “The Voice”) in first quarter 2014.
