Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark Return to Dallas

October 18, 2012 by Marc Berman in Highlights with 2 Comments

According to TV Guide, Ted Shackelford and Joan Van Ark will reprise their classic roles of Gary and Val Ewing in a three-episode story arc in the upcoming second season of Dallas, which returns on TNT in January 2013. The Knots Landing pair began on Dallas, of course. They are Lucy’s (Charlene Tilton) parents, after all. And Miss Ellie (Barbara Bel Geddes) was the one who bought them their house in that troubled cul-de-sac in Knots Landing after they remarried. There was talk of a cameo appearance in season one of the new Dallas, but Shackelford held out for something with more substance.

Dallas on TNT, to-date, has brought back Larry Hagman (J.R.), Patrick Duffy (Bobby), Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) and, to a lesser degree, Ken Kercheval (Cliff Barnes), Steve Kanaly (Ray Krebbs) and aforementioned Charlene Tilton. Also reprising her original role next season will be Audrey Landers as Afton. Could Michele Lee as Karen and Donna Mills as evil Abby be next? And will be seeing, or hearing, anything about Gary and Val’s twins, Bobby and Betsy, who at present time would be 27 years old? Stay tuned!
