CBS’ veteran “The Price is Right,” the longest running game show in television history, will hit the 8,000-episode mark on Monday, April 7. Hosted by Bob Barker from Sept. 4, 1972 to June 15, 2007, Drew Carey took over in September 2007 after Barker retired. And, in celebration, “The Price is Right” will look back at some of the most memorable moments from the past 42 seasons. Contestants will have the opportunity to play pricing games that were featured in the 1,000th, 2,000th, 3,000th, 4,000th, 5,000th and 7,500th episodes, including Plinko, and prizes up for grabs include new cars and trips to Thailand and Hawaii.
After 8,000 episodes, “The Price is Right” has invited almost 70,000 people to “come on down and has given away more than a quarter of billion dollars in cash and prizes. Here is to the next 8,000 episodes!
