THREE OF THE FIVE NEW SYNDICATED TALKERS NOW OFFICIALLY RENEWED
Disney-ABC Domestic Television Distribution has announced the second season renewal of syndicated daytime talker Katie, hosted by Katie Couric, in approximately 95 percent of the country. Represented groups includes the ABC Owned and Operated Stations, Allbritton Communications, Belo Corporation, Cox Media Group, Gannett Broadcasting, Hearst Television, LIN Broadcasting, Media General, Meredith, Raycom, Scripps Howard Broadcasting, Sinclair and Young Broadcasting.
Season to-date, Katie is averaging a 1.9 rating in households, according to Nielsen, which places it sixth overall in the category and first among all freshman talkers for 19 straight weeks (in both households and total viewers).
Katie is now the third of the five freshman syndicated talkers green-lit for season two, joining hours hosted by Steve Harvey and Trisha Goddard from NBCUniversal. Jeff Probst from CBS Television Distribution and Ricki Lake from Twentieth Television, which proves you sometimes cannot “go home again,” are not expected back.
