“Naked Gun” premiered in 1988, the first movie based on short-lived sitcom “Police Squad,” which produced just six episodes on ABC in 1982. Leslie Nielsen reprised his role as straight-faced Detective Frank Drebin. Also on his day, Detective Crosetti (Jon Polito) is found dead on “Homicide: Life on the Street” on NBC in 1994.
