ABC’s The Chew Continues to Trail All My Children

November 10, 2011 by marcberman in Newsletter with 0 Comments

Based on the Live Plus Same Day results for the week of Oct. 31, recent ABC daytime talker The Chew continues to lose steam from year-ago time period occupant All My Children.  The Chew averaged 2.16 million viewers versus 2.32 million for All My Children one year earlier, according to Nielsen Media Research.  All My Children’s advantage demographically was 20 percent in women 25-54, 14 percent in women 18-49 and 25 percent among women 18-34 as follows:

All My Children (ABC) – Week of 11/01/10
Viewers: 2.32 million, Women 25-54: 1.2/ 7, Women 18-49: 0.8/ 5, Women 18-34: 0.5/ 3

The Chew (ABC) – Week of 10/31/11
Viewers: 2.16 million, Women 25-54: 1.0/ 7, Women 18-49: 0.7/ 4, Women 18-34: 0.4/ 3

From a financial perspective, The Chew is still a more cost effective option, of course.  But die-hard fans of All My Children (and soon-to-depart One Live to Live) have not been shy voicing their concerns.

As always, ABC’s The View continues to perform well above The Chew and The Talk on CBS.  Comparably, however, The Chew has now moved ahead of The Talk as follows:

Week of 10/31/11

-Total Viewers:
The View (ABC): 3.69 million, The Chew (ABC): 2.16, The Talk (CBS): 2.08

Women 25-54:
The View (ABC): 1.5 rating/10 share, The Chew (ABC): 1.0/ 7, The talk (CBS): 0.9/ 6

Women 18-49:
The View (ABC): 1.1 rating/ 8 share, The Chew (ABC): 0.7/ 4, The Talk (CBS): 1.7/ 4
