“omg! Insider” Reverts Back to Original Title “The Insider”

January 3, 2014 by Marc Berman in Highlights with 0 Comments

Just one year after changing its name to “omg Insider!,” the CBS Television Distribution magazine strip will return to its original title, “The Insider” effective on Monday, January 6. The daily half-hour, presently hosted by Kevin Frazier and Thea Andrews, was renamed and rebranded to “omg Insider!” following a partnership with Yahoo omg (which is changing its name to Yahoo Celebrity). But the ratings did not increase: season to-date (through Dec. 8), ‘omg! Insider” ranks sixth out of nine entries in the category with a 1.4 rating in households (and a loss of seven percent from one year earlier).

“The Insider,” a spin-off from “Entertainment Tonight,” debuted in first-run syndication on Sept. 13, 2004 with original hosts Pat O’Brien and Lara Spencer.
