December 16, 2011 by Marc Berman in Fun Stuff with 0 Comments

Norman Lear sitcom One Day at a Time, which produced 209 episodes, opened in 1975.  It ran for eight-and-one half seasons through 1984 and would have continued for at least another two years had Bonnie Franklin and Valerie Bertinelli not decided to call it quits.  Also on this day: Dragnet, which officially debuted on January 3, 1952, was previewed on variety half-hour Chesterfield Sound Off Time with Jack Webb and Raymond Burr; and CNN’s Larry King Live aired for the last time in 2010.
