GAA TRAILS YEAR-AGO OCCUPANT ONE LIFE TO LIVE BY DOUBLE-DIGITS

At first sight, you cannot miss the double-digit percent growth for week one of Good Afternoon America on ABC versus recent failed time period occupant The Revolution. But based on the Live Plus Same Day ratings from Nielsen for the week of July 9, Good Afternoon America still trailed year-ago occupant One Live To Live considerably with 1.80 million viewers (down 30 percent from One Life To Live), 343,000 women 18-49 (-42 percent), 483,000 women 25-54 (-29 percent) and 126,000 women 18-34 (-32 percent). Excluding women 18-34, GAA finished fourth among the four network daytime talkers.

For a closer look, here are the results for the quartet:

-Total Viewers:
The View (ABC): 3.06 million, The Chew (ABC); 2.12, The Talk (CBS): 2.06, Good Afternoon America (ABC): 1.80

-Women 18-49:
The View (ABC): 567,000, The Talk (CBS): 411,000, The Chew (ABC); 380,000, Good Afternoon America (ABC): 343,000

-Women 25-54:
The View (ABC): 719,000, The Talk (CBS): 573,000, The Chew (ABC): 548,000, Good Afternoon America (ABC): 483,000

-Women 18-34:

The View (ABC): 203,000, The Chew (ABC): 152,000, Good Afternoon America (ABC): 126,000, The Talk (CBS): 108,000

Will ABC ever realize that we don’t want reality in the daytime?

Lets hope they continue to be sluggish, along with the other show that shouldn’t be on the screen.

I’m glad they are failing!! I wonder how many times they are going to have to fail before they realize they had a great thing with OLTL and bring it back. Thanks for the info Marc!!

This is great news, but I want to see GAA’s numbers as low as those of The Revolution to make sure we won’t see GAA EVER take GH’s place! Please keep NOT WATCHING GAA! Thanks for keeping us informed, Marc!

No one can replace OLTL ever in their time slot and I don’t care what they put in it’s place. This is the ABC move of a lifetime moving GH to that time slot. If I am lucky, I might get some more OLTL on GH. Very very lucky. No one except OLTL viewers understand what I am saying. I have watched GH since day 1 but it really got boring. Thanks to Frank Valentini and Ron Carlivati it is getting so great. ABC is down the tubes and if they don’t know it or something is deeply wrong with them. Goodbye GAA. Goodbye Katie. ABC will NEVER learn.

Is anyone truly surprised by this…I sincerely hope that ABC gets the message that when they move GH into this spot on 9/10 that unless it’s a soap, viewers won’t bite. As always, thanks Marc

I will watch nothing on ABC with the exception of General Hospital. I would rather go with out the TV on than watch any show that has replaced OLTL !!
ABC where is the love in the afternoon now?

ABC Daytime the solution to your problem is very simple: cease with reality and life transformation television and return 1-3pm hours with serial dramas.

OLTL should still be on TV. GAA will not get the soap fans to watch. ABC hope every show of yours tanks. Maybe you need to be TRAINED.
