MORE PROMISING RESULTS FOR NEW DRAMA PERCEPTION

Week two of new TNT drama Perception, starring Eric McCormack, averaged 5.5 million viewers in the Monday 9 p.m. hour on July 16, according to the Live Plus Same Day results from Nielsen, with week-to-week growth demographically of 12 percent in adults 18-49 (1.2 million) and eight percent in adults 25-54 (1.8 million). Lead-in The Closer, which has four episodes left, averaged 6.4 million viewers, topping last week’s summer season premiere by four percent.

Including DVR usage, The Closer’s premiere episode increased from 6.1 million viewers to 7.8 million viewers on July 9, while the episode’s demos have expanded to 1.7 million adults 18-49 and 2.3 million adults 25-54. Perception’s premiere episode rose from 5.6 to 6.8 million viewers, with 1.5 million adults 18-49 and 2.0 million adults 25-54.
