“The Chase”, GSN’s new hour-long game show hosted by Brooke Burns (formerly of “Dog Eat Dog”), premiered on Tuesday, August 6th at 9 p.m. ET/PT to an average of 511,000 total viewers, and 168,000 viewers in Adults 18-49, according to Nielsen Media Research.

“The Chase” is a fast-paced trivia game show imported from Britain where a team of contestants vie to earn lots of cash while battling a master trivia expert a.k.a. “The Beast” who attempts to “chase” them out of the money. Mark Labbett, one of the trivia experts from the British version, is America’s “Beast.” Labbett — a 6-foot-6-inch tall, 350-pound gentleman — has degrees from Oxford, Exeter and Glamorgan universities and is also a qualified mathematics teacher.

The second episode of “The Chase” at 10 p.m. ET/PT delivered 461,000 total viewers and 117,000 viewers in Adults 18-49.

As a lead-in to “The Chase,” at 8 p.m. ET/PT, a new episode of GSN’s version of “Minute to Win It,” hosted by Apolo Anton Ohno and entitled (fittingly enough) “Team Beauty and the Beast,” drew the series’ largest ratings to-date with 596,000 total viewers, and 196,000 viewers in Adults 18-49.

To put these numbers into perspective, for the week of July 29-August 4, 2013, GSN delivered 389,000 total viewers (94,000 of those viewers in Adults 18-49) in prime time (8 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and 278,000 total viewers (67,000 of those viewers in Adults 18-49) in total day (6 a.m. to 5:59 a.m.).

Versus the 9 p.m. time period average year-to-year, “The Chase” premiere episode was up in total viewers (up 55 percent), Adults 18-49 (up 87 percent), Adults 25-54 (up 116 percent), Women 18-49 (up 95 percent) and Women 25-54 (up 112 percent)
