CBS led this first Thursday in March in total viewers (11.06 million), adults 25-54 (3.6 rating/10 share) and adults 18-49 (2.5/ 8 — tied with ABC).

The series-premiere of John Ridley’s “American Crime” on ABC (Women 18-34: 1.9/7; Men 18-34: 1.0/4; Women 18-49: 2.7/8; Men 18-49: 1.4/5) performed respectably out of an original episode of “Scandal” (Women 18-34: 3.3/11; Men 18-34: 1.3/5; Women 18-49: 4.4/12; Men 18-49: 1.6/5). But recent time period occupant “How To Get Away With Murder,” which concluded season one last week, was stronger.

With another lackluster ratings performance for “Allegiance” (Women 18-34: 0.5/2; Men 18-34: 0.3/1; Women 18-49: 0.9/3; Men 18-49: 0.7/3), the NBC spy drama was given a pink slip after just five episodes.

The 8pm telecast of Fox News Channel’s “The O’Reilly Factor” (3.122 million total viewers) was cable’s most-watched program of the day, followed by Syfy’s “WWE Smackdown” (2.694 million) and two editions of History’s “Pawn Stars” (2.674 million at 9:30 p.m. and 2.511 million at 9 p.m.). Leading out of “Pawn Stars” at 10 p.m. was ancient-era drama “Vikings” (2.409 million) which ranked sixth.

The oft-promoted “Dig” on USA scored 1.834 million total viewers (19th-most of the day on cable) and a 0.6 rating among adults 18-49 in its series debut telecast (10-11:23 p.m.). The series stars Jason Isaacs and Anne Heche.
