While CNN was delivering historically boffo ratings with a GOP debate, the other networks took a stumble as a result. Of solely the broadcast networks, NBC came out on top among total viewers (8.36 million) and all key demographics. The network touted that the 2-hour season finale of “America’s Got Talent” (Women 18-34: 1.7/6; Men 18-34: 1.1/5; Women 18-49: 2.4/7; Men 18-49: 1.8/6) earned its best Wednesday numbers of the summer, yet it was the series’ least-watched (among total viewers) and least-rated (among adults 18-49) season finale ever. The night marked the final episode of judge Howard Stern who is reportedly venturing to a new project.

Fox scored modest marks with its 2-hour season of “MasterChef” (Women 18-34: 1.2/5; Men 18-34: 0.7/3; Women 18-49: 1.8/6; Men 18-49: 1.3/5).
