Univision Bombs at The Winter Press Tour

Univision Bombs at The Winter Press Tour

January 14, 2012 by Marc Berman in Highlights with 0 Comments

Picture this: Saturday at 8 a.m., the day before the end of the long (but always rewarding) Winter Press Tour.  At a very crowded room at The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena is Jennifer Lopez and estranged husband Marc Anthony hawking new Univision talent contest O’Viva! The Chosen.  What should have been an informative breakfast session (complete with an ambitious, and unexpected live musical performance) morphed into a shouting fest as one angry TV critic shouted: “The critics would like to ask their questions!”

Instead, and with a limited amount of time left for Univision, the session got more hostile when Univision personality Lourdes Stephen (Sal y Pimienta) initially ignored the pleas by the audience.  Sadly, only a few questions were asked.  And, unfortunately for Univision, this now infamous TCA session will go in the history books as one of the most bizarre ever.  Note to anyone presenting at The Winter or Summer Tour in the future: let the critics speak.
